FEATURED / SITE UPDATE
September 2026 · OldRoot Studios

The site is becoming the universe’s front door.

OldRoot’s first public site began as a functional registry. The current rebuild pushes it toward something more deliberate: cleaner typography, stronger hierarchy, deeper world navigation, an actual lore index, an events registry, a guided Start Here page, and a modern dispatch desk.

The next visual phase will replace temporary and overly photoreal character imagery with a more intentional comic-editorial art direction.

Genesis is rebuilt around the Saint Dorsey accident.

The Genesis record now follows the authoritative accidental-failure chain: the first HVA-01 recovery, a compromised Saint Dorsey containment seal, safety systems unknowingly triggering another bloom, UMWR load shift, high-density energy-system damage, the first explosion, and the iconic three-second delay before Genesis-state Abyron engulfs the island.

The rewrite establishes the 14-hour orange cloud, roughly two-day exclusion period, 362 deaths, delayed and medically undetectable Ascendant emergence, a small finite Genesis-only Ascendant category, Abyron Powder, Hampton’s transparent-but-liable response, the post-Genesis reservoir search, and the Dorsey New General Facility. Agent Emerald and Aftermark receive their creator-art packages.

Agent Emerald now carries distinct Seattle combat, mobility, registry, dossier, and featured visuals, while Aftermark's former design-sheet filler has been fully replaced across the site. Aftermark's horizontal pieces are reserved for cover/card roles, with vertical art used inside his dossier.

OR-WEB-0016 · October 1, 2026 · Sitewide Redesign

OldRoot After Dark now spans the full public site.

The dark green visual system has expanded from the homepage into characters, dossiers, Lore, Events, Organizations, Locations, OPI, Library, commerce, Dispatches, Contact, Support, and every shared site surface.

OR-WEB-0015 · October 1, 2026 · Visual Prototype

OldRoot After Dark begins on the homepage.

The homepage is testing a darker cinematic direction built from near-black green, root-network atmosphere, restrained gold signal marks, larger character artwork, and layered translucent surfaces. The rest of the site remains unchanged while the direction is reviewed.

Commotion receives his final comic-art package.

Commotion's temporary imagery has been replaced with purpose-specific comic artwork: a primary dossier visual, dedicated combat and equipment illustrations, and a separate rooftop image for the homepage spotlight. The Character Registry keeps a clean identification crop while Chicago remains focused on the location itself.

Nearby globe locations now cluster cleanly.

Dense map areas now collapse into a counted cluster marker instead of stacking pins on top of each other. Selecting a cluster opens a nearby-location navigator that supports scrolling, arrow keys, Previous/Next controls, and direct selection. The greater D.C. cluster includes Baltimore, St. Dorsey, and Washington, D.C. as a geographic reference.

Locations globe rebuilt for stability.

The globe has returned to a focused global-navigation role. Unstable extreme zoom and live city-boundary behavior were removed; selection, drag rotation, controlled zoom, dossier links, keyboard access, and mobile interaction were rebuilt around a simpler state model. St. Dorsey is now explicitly marked as a schematic D.C.-area placement rather than an exact public coordinate.
